The convenience of auto renewal
At Costco, we’ve come up with the ideal way to make renewing your card more convenient—auto renewal. If you decide to turn auto renewal on, we’ll automatically renew your card when it’s due, ensuring your membership is always valid. This way, you don’t ever have to worry about checking when your card expires and you’ll always be ready to shop!
We’ve outlined the steps for turning auto renewal on below, and explained the details, so keep reading to learn more about the convenience of auto renewal!
Check you have an account
Activating auto renewal is easy. First, you need an online account. To sign in or to make one, click “Log in or register”. If you want help creating your online account, visit “How to register for an online account”.
Online accounts aren’t created automatically when you sign up at a warehouse, so you must register your card after you’ve collected it.
Turning auto renewal on
Once you’ve logged in, click "My account payment methods" and fill in your credit or debit card details. When that’s complete, scroll to the bottom of the page until you see “Auto renew settings”, then click the "Off" button to "On".
Auto renewal will then be activated in your account, meaning you can rest assured that your membership won’t skip a day!
When it’s been activated
To keep you in the loop and make sure you’re prepared, we’ll let you know 15 days before your membership payment is processed every year.
We’ll also send you an email to confirm if the payment is successful.
Privacy
We take information privacy seriously. So, to help us protect your information, your payment details are encrypted. No one can see, use or alter anything except for you.
Change of mind
You’re free to change your mind about auto renewal at any time. If you decide you don’t want your membership to be automatically renewed anymore, you can simply switch the button to “Off”.
