COVID-19 updates

Costco is firmly committed to helping protect the health and safety of our members and employees, and to serving our communities. We are closely monitoring the changing situation, and complying with public health guidance.

Face Covering Requirements: VIC, NSW & QLD warehouses

Following government guidelines, to protect our members and employees, all Costco members and guests must wear a face covering that covers their mouth and nose at all times while at Costco in VIC, NSW and QLD locations. This requirement does not apply to children under the age of 12 or to individuals who are unable to wear a face covering due to a medical condition. The use of a face covering should not be seen as a substitute for social distancing. Please continue to observe rules regarding appropriate distancing while on Costco premises. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Changes to Member Services

Our Optical Centres, Hearing Aid Centres, Tyre Centres and Food Courts remain open but will have limited services at this time

Cleaning and Sanitation

In addition to social distancing measures we have implemented additional cleaning and disinfecting of trolleys, register areas, membership counters and all hard surfaces.

Hand sanitiser is available at the entry and exit points of our warehouse for members, guests and employees.

COVID 19 Marshals – COVID Safe Plan

To assist us in keeping our members, guests and employees safe Costco has a COVID safe plan for each of its locations and have COVID Marshalls in place at our South Australian warehouse to ensure that we meet State and Federal Government requirements.

To protect our employees and members all Costco employees, members and guests must wear a face covering that covers their mouth and nose at all times during their appointment. This requirement does not apply to children under the age of 12 or to individuals who are unable to wear a face covering due to a medical condition.

Face Covering Requirements: Melbourne, Victoria

Following government guidelines, to protect our members and employees, effective Thursday 23rd July 2020 all Costco members and guests must wear a face covering that covers their mouth and nose at all times while at Costco in Victorian locations. This requirement does not apply to children under the age of 12 or to individuals who are unable to wear a face covering due to a medical condition. Members and/or guests without face coverings will not be allowed in to the warehouse.

The use of a face covering should not be seen as a substitute for social distancing. Please continue to observe rules regarding appropriate distancing while on Costco premises. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Food court

Orders are only available for take away—seating is not available. Please ask Costco food court employees for available condiments.

Online deliveries

Members may experience delayed delivery times and reduced home service due to the Coronavirus. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Product limitations

Costco may at any time implement limits on certain items to ensure more members are able to purchase the merchandise they want and need. Our buyers and suppliers are working hard to provide essential, high demand merchandise as well as everyday favourites.

Safety Measures

In addition to cleaning and sanitising, we have installed screens at our registers. Costco regularly reviews State and Federal requirements to ensure that we are providing a safe shopping environment for our members, guests and employees.

Social distancing

Costco is following recommendations to minimise risk to our members and employees. We respectfully ask our members to follow social distancing guidelines while shopping in our warehouses by allowing at least 1.5 metres between each person.

Temporary department changes

To help limit personal contact and create more space for social distancing, Costco has reduced service in some departments. Costco’s Optical and Hearing Aid Centres are temporarily reducing services to adhere to current COVID-19 restrictions. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
