How do I sign up for a membership at a warehouse?
For those who’d rather sign up in person, stop by the membership counter at your local warehouse and fill out a membership application form. To sign up online please visit the Membership Page.
In order to sign up for a Gold Star Membership or Gold Star Executive Membership, we need to confirm your age and address, so bring photo identification that shows your current residential address and date of birth. Once that’s done, we’ll process your application, take your photo and print your card so you’re ready to start shopping!
If you’re specifically after a Business Membership or Business Executive Membership, bring your ABN certificate or a business licence, identification that shows you’re the owner or operator of the business, and photo identification with your address and date of birth.
If you also want to sign up for the secondary household card, get your nominee to bring their photo identification—you can choose your spouse, domestic partner or immediate family member over the age of 18 and living at the same residential address.
An online account isn’t created automatically when you sign up at a warehouse. You can use your membership card number to register for your online account after you’ve signed up and collected your card from the warehouse.
Personal Membership
Gold Star Membership and Gold Star Executive Membership are the two types of personal membership that allow anyone over the age of 18 to sign up for membership at Costco. Visit your local Costco warehouse and bring photo identification that shows your current residential address to the membership counter. Once you’ve completed the application form, we’ll take your photo and print your card—then you’re ready to shop!
Please visit our membership sign-up page for more information.
As Costco sells liquor in Australia, you must be over 18 to become a member.
Business Membership
Costco has two types of membership for business and enterprise use - Business Membership and Business Executive Membership. Both allow you to purchase products for your business, for resale or for personal use. If you want your employees to shop at Costco too, you will need to add them to your business account. Keep in mind that a yearly fee applies to each employee added to your membership.
A useful perk of our Business Membership is that you’re entitled to make two separate transactions at the register: one for business to produce a tax receipt and one for your personal shopping.
