Still grown in the wild, pine nuts are the edible seeds of the pine tree and best known as a traditional ingredient for pesto. Slightly sweet with a lovely buttery texture, pine nuts are delicious when toasted, as this brings out their flavour and adds extra crunch. Pine nuts are perfect sprinkled over a favourite salad or pizza for some extra nuttiness. Alternatively, toast and scatter over roasted veggies.
